A Custom non-ferromagnetic Stage Top Chamber

Here’s another example of a complex request that we’ve gotten for a customized microscope incubator, one which has contributed to making Okolab recognized as the incubation experts.
Requirements for this special incubation system:
- top stage chamber needs to accommodate a large custom-made device including a magneto-mechanical stimulator
- needs to be non-ferromagnetic to avoid influencing the magnetic field to which the cells had to be exposed, for non-invasive mechanical stimulation
- needs to be compatible with a Leica Microsystems upright microscope equipped with special ceramic objectives
- needs to guarantee stable and accurate temperature, CO2 and humidity conditions for experiments over 72 hours

The results open the door to understanding the mechanobiological processes that occur during complex and dynamic deformation states, e.g., in traumatic brain injury, pathological skin scarring or fibrotic heart remodeling during myocardial infarction.
